All of our coaches have obtained at least a level 1 CPSA coaching certificate and some of them have even gone on to qualify at a national level. We run several different types of lesson at the club aimed at all levels of ability.

Introductory. This lesson is required if you do not have a valid shotgun certificate and you are unknown to the club, or if you are new to the sport. It is also often given as a gift for people who are hard to buy for. The lesson lasts approx 1hr and breaks down into 2 parts, on range and off range.
We start off range with an introduction to the gun that we will be using, its basic parts and handling techniques.
We then move onto 10 points of safety as set down by the CPSA, followed by stance, gun fit, master eye and method required to hit a simple target.
Next we go on range and shoot several targets, employing the techniques that we have just learned.
If the target becomes too easy for the pupil we will change the target so they can progress to their potential. We would expect more than 75% of targets to be broken by the pupil during the lesson.
After the pupil has shown competency with the safe handling of the gun we as a club would then be happy for them to return another day and shoot at the club with a Safety officer present without being in a lesson environment. Once the Safety officer is satisfied, the pupil can shoot unsupervised.

Intermediate Lesson. This lesson is as it says the follow on to the Introductory lesson, this lesson is 100% on range and will cover specific targets building up to report and simultaneous pairs of targets.

Advanced Lesson. During this lesson the coach will accompany you around the 100 target layout or the stand which you find difficult and instruct on how to overcome those tricky targets and turn those lost targets into solid breaks.
This lesson may also be set up on the training stand away from the club if the particular target is not on.
This lesson is also used by accomplished shooters to improve technique and increase consistency.
